OCS Instructions

The diagram below explains program flow and what you do each step of the way. Each step is described below the diagram.

Step 1: Assess if your client is a suitable candidate for W4K. Suitable clients are typically those who meet these criteria:

  • History of Substance Abuse

  • Lack of Stable Housing

  • Cognitive Disability

  • Poor Work History

  • No HS Diploma

  • Physical Disability

  • Mental Health Problems

  • History of Incarceration

  • No Driver’s License

  • Pending/Potential Social Security Applicants

  • History of Self-Employment

  • Illiteracy

But anyone is a potential candidate who is sincerely interested in help and support.

Step 2: Click the Search button to the right and search to be sure your client is not already in the system. It's easiest to search the system by entering minimal information, (e.g. First Name: John). The database will then return all clients with first name of John.

Step 3: Click on the Referral button to the right to enter a new case. Please be really careful to choose the appropriate EAP counselor from the drop-down and their commensurate user name in the next field. Otherwise, your referral will create confusion.

Step 4: You may click on the Schedule button to the right to schedule an appointment for your client.

Select the EAP counselor whose location is most convenient for the NCP.  This does NOT need to be the same location as the court event.
